He was responsive and always available, providing invaluable advice and expert tips that made all the difference in our travel preparations.

He was caring since the beginning, tailoring our tour as we wanted and requested and choosing the best accommodations, comfortable and well located. The entire trip exceeded our expectations.

He is also a photographer and love birding. He was not our guide but he assigned us the best guide ever. Passionate, caring, knowledgeable and funny and he made our trip even more memorable. Uganda is a beautiful country, and I can’t wait to come back. I can definitely recommend Dixon and his company, you will be in good hands!

Our driver Medard was fantastic! He was fun, patient, knowledgeable and a calm driver. He is a local man so he was able to share so much of his life with us and to tell us about life in Uganda and growing up in a village.
Our hotel pick up went very smoothly, all border crossings went well and the overnight at Bunyonyi Rock Lake Resort was calming and serene with a wonderful bed. Good choice Dickson on the hotel.
I am a planner of our trips, usually doing most of the details for the 152 countries we have visited. This trip was different so hiring a professional was a no-brainer and I’m so glad I did and grateful it was Dickson. He even came to meet us in person on our last day and that was no easy task, very professional and personable.

He compiled a tour according to our wishes, adjusted where necessary and squeezed it all into a 9-days round trip starting and ending in Entebbe. He was very knowledgeable and a skillful photographer which made our trip to the Mabamba wetlands all the more enjoyable. After that, we had the privilege and pleasure to be accompanied by Balam, who not only drove us safely all around Uganda but also told us so much about the culture and traditions, kept us entertained and laughing also during long drives and showed us so much great wildlife (which he knows everything about and not just the big 5 but also the little brown birds), much of which we likely would have missed to find ourselves. All the lodges we stayed at were absolutely fantastic, the only thing we would have had differently was to stay longer at each one of them (but that was our own fault/bad luck). Based on our experience, we can, from the bottom of our heart, recommend Hooves of Africa, Dickson and Balam to everyone who is looking into coming to and exploring Uganda. They will take excellent care of you and provide you with a trip of a lifetime!
